The Moto X Design Works - Now Podium Proven
In its first competition since launch, the new Moto X Design Works kite immediately launched Stino Mul to the podium in the GKA Gran Canaria Big Air Finals. Stino opted for the 8m throughout the entire event and consistently outscored his heat contenders with huge amplitude and powerful kite loops.
"Throughout the whole event I only used my 8m. I was feeling super confident on that kite after riding it the most throughout the last year. Together with Pat Goodman, we designed the 8 exactly how I like to ride a Big Air kite, now the kite is finished I feel stoked that I have made the podium with it in the very first event! 💪🏽"
Day 1 ended with Stino taking out the highest score of the entire day with a 9.0 single boogie board off loop oozing Stino's signature style. No one does inverted 'by the fin' board offs like Stino.
Also competing in the event was up and coming Danish big air specialist Lucas Graumstrup who opted for the Nitro in the 8m & 9m sizes and the Moto X Design Works in the 6m for explosive double loops. Lucas charged hard and only narrowly missed out progressing through to round 3.
The conditions in Gran Canaria tested all the athletes, with chop & wind swell making take offs and landings hugely challenging. The rocky beach also made sure attention and care was needed getting in and out the water.
