CLOUDBREAK, FIJI
Do you edit the blogs yourself and is that something you enjoy doing?
Yes I edit them myself, but it’s nothing special! I just use iMovie. I’ve been making short clips for instagram over the past couple years, and I really like making those simple edits that tell a little story. That’s how most of my Sessions videos will be.

Hi Moona, can you tell us a bit more about your Sessions with Moona vlogs?
Sessions with Moona will be a series of videos showing Hawaii, my home and the home of Cabrinha, my travels, and fun things I get up to. I get so much cool footage with my Gopro that we thought this would be a good way to share it.

Your dog Kuma loves being on the water! How did you teach him to surf with you?
He’s about 10 months old now, but he loved the water since he was a little puppy! The first time I took him on a SUP, he jumped right on and we caught a wave on the first try. Now he tries to jump on your board before you even get to the water.
PORTUGAL - VIANA DO CASTELO
Do you have tips for traveling with a lot of gear?
Always research the oversized/surfboard baggage policies for the airlines before you book your flights. Some people are good at getting out of the baggage fees, but I'm not, so I just have to pack strategically and hope for the best! I always try to bring as little as possible, and use my wetsuits, kites, and harness to pad my boards.
FIJI
What did you do in Fiji when the wind wasn’t blowing?
We surfed all day. But when the swell was bigger, it was too heavy for me, so I shot some photos of the guys. I also swam out to the lineup with some fins and a mask to get a closer look safely. The guys were really friendly and helped us navigate the sets. That was one of the highlights of the trip for me, swimming under the most powerful waves in crystal clear water as the pros weaved through barrels above us!

We saw you at the GKA events in Europe and Africa, in Australia, Hawaii, Fiji... Do you ever get sick of traveling? What are your travel essentials?
For now I'm really enjoying it! This is actually the first year that I'm traveling the whole year so it's exciting, especially since most of them are new places. Besides my kite gear, some of my travel essentials are my reusable water bottle, food container, and utensils, my All Good reef friendly sunscreen and Honey Girl Organics lotions, my Gopro, and I always bring my surfboard just in case we don't get any wind!

What are the conditions like for kiting at your home spot on Oahu?
We have really fun waves and pretty consistent wind. The wind is not as strong as other places but the waves can be amazing sometimes. I normally kite at a right hander with sideshore wind, which is perfect for waveriding for a regular-footer.

With one of the best spots in your backyard, how does a typical day look for you?
It can vary a lot depending on the time of year and the conditions, but during the windy season, a good day would be surfing in the morning, doing some computer work in the middle of the day, and then driving down the road for a kite session in the afternoon till sunset. Then repeat as long as the swell lasts!
